Ginseng-Aroma “Gong” Loose TeaYiwu · Traditional Hong Kong storage

A raw loose tea from the 1980s, kept in traditional Hong Kong storage. It was first packed in traditional upright cartons of 25 kg; open one and an aged ginseng aroma comes out at once, with a deep, mellow scent of age. The growing area is not marked, but the tea drinks close to well-known Yiwu teas such as those of Tung Xing Hao, so it is taken to be Yiwu. The bamboo slivers mixed in have turned brown and brittle, a sign of how long it has been kept.

Aroma: a clear light ginseng note and a touch of age on the dry leaf; with hot water it turns to wood, with a light herbal note. Liquor: deep brownish red. Taste: slightly viscous and full, with the tea character lingering clearly on the surface.
