Treasured Aged “Gong Mo”Yunnan · Traditional Hong Kong storage

“Gong Mo” is the broken leaf that fell loose over many years in an old Hong Kong tea warehouse, gathered together, with plenty of small, naturally formed pearl-like clumps mixed in. The label reads “1970s” and “Treasured Aged Gong Mo”, with a seal reading “early period” on the left. The factory is not recorded. It has been kept in traditional Hong Kong storage throughout and by 2026 is about fifty years old.

Aroma: a faint ginseng note on the dry leaf; in the cup, steady camphor and an old herbal-ginseng note, somewhere between tea and herbal medicine. Liquor: very dark and glossy, deep and heavy. Taste: full, sweet and smooth, slick and thick; saliva and returning sweetness fill both cheeks, with no harshness. Finish: slightly cool, saliva welling under the tongue, a long gentle sweetness; clean, with no off-notes. Infusions: being fine, it brews quickly and fades after about 5–6.
